Test the Clarity Buyer Tool

Clarity maintains the largest network of Corporate and Private Equity Group (PEG) buyers that specifically seek smaller manufacturing sector investments. In many of these cases, we work on a retainer basis to identify acquisition prospects that meet the Buyer’s defined criteria – with a success fee if our client ultimately acquires a company that we have introduced.

Our extensive network of Buyers may enable us to sell your business without charging you a brokerage fee. We work with you to establish the enterprise value and to understand your key objectives moving forward. For example, one of your objectives may be to maintain minority ownership and an on-going operational role, with performance incentives. This activity serves to acquaint Clarity with your business.

If Clarity’s Buyer can pay full value and meet your other terms, you get the deal done quickly and save the brokerage fee.

You have nothing to lose by testing our Buyer pool. If Clarity cannot deliver the right Buyer, you are under no obligation to continue working with us. All information is held in the strictest confidence. This approach enables you to ‘test the waters’ without risking a rumor mill that your company is for sale. If we don’t have a Buyer, you are free to pursue other strategies. At the very least, you will have gained valuable insight as you endeavor on to complete a sale or choose to wait.

Small and Lower Middle Market Focus

Today’s business press may create the impression that PEGs are strictly interested in mega deals. In fact, there are well over 1,000 North American PEGs, some of which focus on small and lower middle market deals. Many more make small bolt-on acquisitions for the platform companies in their portfolio. Our database also includes over 100 European PEGs that focus on smaller manufacturing sector investments.

Why does Clarity focus on $4 to $30 million deals?

  1. When we work with Corporate and PEG buyers on bolt-on acquisitions, our search criteria is generally well defined. Our job is clear; find the best company available that fits the criteria set. This allows us to be more productive with our time.
  2. When buyers are seeking bolt-on acquisitions for their portfolio companies, this activity is a key facet of their growth plan. There is a high probability that if we can identify a motivated Seller that fits the criteria, a deal will be completed.
  3. There is always heated competition for larger deals. There are scores of buyers who will look at any deal over a certain financial threshold, regardless of the industry. Conversely, when we are working with a buyer on a smaller acquisition, the vast majority of investors will have no interest in the deal. The Clarity Buyer pool is designed with these size and industry considerations in mind.
