After 10 years at the National Bureau of Standards, Dick joined Thiokol Corporation's Chemical Group. At the time of his departure, Dick was Director of Marketing and Sales of this $240 million Thiokol operation. After 11 years with Thiokol, Dick spent 4 years as Executive Vice President of Synair Corporation, a $50 million specialty chemical manufacturer and 5 years as Senior Vice President of Product and Market Development at ARNCO company, another specialty chemical manufacturer. In 1990, Dick formed Chemline Corporation based on a US Air Force contract to develop a flat proof aircraft tire. In 1996, Dick formed DynaChem Corporation, a manufacturer of polyurethane products for automotive and other applications. Dick successfully sold DynaChem to Vangard Industries in 1999, having grown the company to roughly $10 million in annual sales. |
